Which realm do you have to
play to get access to the largest
variety of trophies?
The easiest way to answer the
question is to count the types
of trophies that each realm
can't get.
Albs can't get cats, mantises,
mantis heads, mantas, vendos,
megaloceroses, sabertooths,
griffons, birds, or wooly
serpent heads. Total: 10.
Hibs can't get drakorans,
spiders, ants, lizards, vendos,
megaloceroses, sabertooths,
griffons, birds, or wooly
serpent heads. Total: 10.
Mids can't get drakorans,
single-board pixies, spiders,
cats, mantises, mantis heads,
cockatrices, or mantas. Total:
8.
Midgard wins. Mids can
get their hands on all but eight
trophy types. In comparison,
ten types are off-limits for
Albs and Hibs.
(In this article I'm not counting
the dragons or the named types
Xanxicar, Balor, and Nosdoden
because each realm gets one
of each category, so they cancel
out.)
Next question. Which realm
has the largest number of types
that are accessible to that
realm exclusively? Let's count:
Only Albs can get drakorans
and spiders. Total: 2.
Only Hibs can get cats, mantises,
mantis heads, and mantas.
Total: 4.
Only Mids can get vendos,
megaloceroses, sabertooths,
griffons, birds, and wooly
serpent heads. Total: 6.
Once again, Midgard wins.
Not only does Midgard get
access to the widest variety
of trophies, but it also has
the most types that can be
obtained only by that realm.
Forget
the Frontier
Everything written so far
assumes that people are willing
to hunt for remains in the
frontier. But what if you
don't want to do that? How
do the realms compare if you
hunt only in your home zones?
On that basis, leaving out
the frontiers:
Albs can't get badgers
and rainbow sprites in addition
to the types we already
mentioned above. Total inaccessible
types: 12.
Hibs can't get lions and
rainbow sprites in addition
to the types we already
mentioned above. Total inaccessible
types: 12.
Mids can't get boars, frogs,
and rainbow sprites in addition
to the types we already
mentioned above. Total inaccessible
types: 11.
Once again, Midgard wins.
